By the way you remember I have recorded the same file with webcam own software by Logitech and it seems working well. There is no lag between video and audio and the latency is good. Maybe this could be useful to know.

Just a quick question for you. I'm curious to know if you can tell me. What are you using to capture the audio input, or are you using the logitech webcam builtin mic, or are you using a separate mic that is plugged into your external soundcard interface mic socket?

P.S - I have watched and listened carefully to your short video that you had recorded with splitcam there is a lag between the video and audio. However, there could be other factors that could also be causing the out-of-sync (lag) when recording.

@ Gtr679,

Just a few basic important valid points I should make you aware of firstly!

1. Splitcam will only have access to the Basic Webcam standalone driver only!

2. A lot of manufactured webcams now come with a specific Webcam unique driver, and the Webcam will come Included with an Extra recording "Software Application" on it's CD disc.

3. The problem with some of those Extra Applications is that they won't work together "in-conjunction" with your other video IM programs or social media sites. So basically it's a single (loner) application.

4. If that logitech webcam extra soft application works for you on your system without having the audio latency or a lag problem, then use it to record your material for now.

P.S - Given time the SPLITCAM BETA VERSION will improve over time in due course!

I not want to do an issue of own software, only you know I like splitcam and I find that it is useful for me why it lets me streaming cam in fullscreen and recording videos in AVI format.
However, I have decided to try recording without my fastrack external card. I'll install the audio integrated card or soundblaster and I will try that so I will be able to post my check.

@ Gtr679,

OK, I would recommend using the Motherboard Integrated Audio card first. Since you only have to install the Audio driver software from the motherboard CD disc, and see how that performs on your system as a comparison between it, and the separate sound blaster audio card you might also be considering.

Hi all

Just installed Splitcam 5.4.6.23 beta on Win 7 64bits
When selecting a video, it simply crashes without any error message
Tried avi, mpg, mp4, wmv... same case

Any clue about what to look for ?

Thanks

Well, if I had no encoder pack installed, would I be able to view the very same movies with MediaPlayer, VLC or iTunes ? :?:

Tried it out for yourself then you'll have the answer.

@ pderwael,

Well I'm sorry if my post reply above didn't come close to explaining in such detail.

However, in your first post you ask a question that you couldn't play a video within splitcamera at all, it would just crash without no warning error message as to why!

P.S - So I replied and said, its because you didn't have an codec / encoder installed. <-<< (I kept this answer very simple)

Now there is reason I advise users to read carefully the various threads on the forum. So that it would avoid repeating myself. Because some user's or a lot of them, can't be bothered to take the time to study or read what is already their as in some of available threads on this forum.
